Question: What happens when one of the most popular bands in the world teams up with one of the most effective conservation groups in the country in an effort to pass what could be the most important legislation in the history of the Chesapeake Bay?
Answer: A mountain of letters to members of Congress.
That’s the aim of the Dave Matthews Band and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF), which are partnering to gain greater support for the Chesapeake Clean Water Act (CCWA) now before Congress.
To help make that happen, CBF is teaming up with the Dave Matthews Band and Hampton Roads radio station WNOB. Starting Tuesday, a pair of tickets to the July 20 Dave Matthews concert at the Virginia Beach Amphitheatre will be given away every day to randomly selected people who have gone to CBF’s website and written a letter to their congressman about CCWA.
It’s that simple. Just go to www.cbf.org/DMB and take action. Each day leading up to the concert, the Dave Matthews Band will randomly select a winner of two concert tickets. And thanks to the band, every person who visits the website and sends a CCWA letter to a congressman will automatically become a CBF member.
There’s more. On the day of the concert, CBF will host a table near WNOB’s remote broadcast booth at the concert and encourage concertgoers to sign a petition supporting CCWA. All signers from the concert will be automatically entered into a contest to win an autographed Dave Matthews Band lithograph and an opportunity to meet Dave Matthews in person.
So when you stand with Dave Matthews, CBF, and WNOB in support of CCWA, you’ll not only help restore the Bay and the streams and rivers that feed it, you’ll be entered to win free tickets to Dave’s July 20 concert!
Take action. Save the Bay. Boogie down with Dave Matthews. How cool is that?
