Maryland and Pennsylvania submitted to EPA new draft Chesapeake Bay pollution reduction strategies, called “watershed implementation plans." Virginia missed the Sept. 1 deadline for submitting its plan, but was granted an extension until Friday.

Why does MDE even bother as the don't have an effective NPDEES program, i.e. Riverkeppers have asked EPA to take authory away for lack of effective program. Why not jsu enforce current Clean Water Act?

The Watershed Implementation Plans submitted by the states this week are part of EPA's enforcement of the existing Clean Water Act.
