Thanks for the insight into the crabber's life Joel. You came to Peach Bottom Township last year to talk to residents about the potential effects of FACTORY FARMING on our small township. I would like to hear more about how FACTORY FARMING / CAFO'S are damaging the precious aquaculture that sustains our watermen and feeds so many people.
The viability and sustainability of the Chesapeake should be of great concern to everyone in the Watershed, yet Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection continues to rubber stamp CAFO permits with little or no regard for the health of the Chesapeake Bay. The beloved nutrient management plans Pennsylvania boasts about are about as worthless as the paper they are written on because Factory Farms and those who run them admittedly produce more manure than they can get rid of. I {ennsylvania views Chesapeake as their toilet bowl and it seems no one including our neighbors to the South amd East really cares...All we ever get in the way of help in our community is a bunch of lip service and patronizing pats on the back to "keep up the fight" What we would like to know is when are the reinforcements coming? PBCCG needs all the moral support and help anyone is willing to send our way so that we can shine a light on PA's unconstitutional "right to farm act" (act 38) that denies local townships and citizens in Pennsylvania the right to clean air and pure water. Act 38 reaches across state lines and denies those same rights to everyone in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed: An opportunity to "Save The Bay" Joel McCord, please CONTACT US AT PBCCG PO BOX 307 Delta PA 17314 TO GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT HOW PENNSYLVANIA LEGISLATORS SCOFF AT THE CHESAPEAKE BAY INITIATIVE!!!

What an interesting story -- I never knew that harvesting soft shell crabs was so involved.
